Herpin Wins Colorado Recall Election, Thanks Voters for “Demanding to be heard”

Colorado Springs (September 10, 2013) - Tonight the people of Colorado’s Senate District 11 chose to remove Senate President John Morse from office and replace him with retired Naval and Air Force officer, Bernie Herpin.

Initial election reports show Herpin winning more than 84% to replace Senator Morse.

Bernie Herpin earned the support of the people of Colorado’s Senate District 11 and pledged, “I will serve you with honor. I will respect your rights. I will listen and respond.”

Herpin congratulated the truly local grassroots effort that succeeded in recalling Morse by saying, “You have reminded us that elected officials are accountable to those who elect them and that this is truly a government of the people, by the people and for the people.”

“Thank you to the voters of Senate District 11. Thank you for supporting the recall and giving me the chance to serve you. Thank you for standing up for yourselves and demanding to be heard,” declared Herpin.

“By your vote, you have sent a loud and clear message that we will no longer tolerate elected officials who refuse to listen to their constituents and trample on our rights. The people have spoken,” concluded Herpin.

Bernie Herpin and his family were joined by more than a hundred Campaign supporters at an Election Watch Party Tuesday night when the results came in.
